Course Overview
Storytelling is an age-old pastime enjoyed by everyone! Within the context of public speaking, effective storytelling is a powerful way to relay key messages memorably. This interactive discussion will focus on how a speaker can offer audiences prepared stories that engage listeners and ensure that they will remember messages long after the presentation has concluded.
Meet Your Instructor
Virginia Wheatley
An experienced teacher, trainer, and leader, Virginia Wheatley has delivered over a thousand presentations to diverse audiences including adult students, military and other government personnel, and industry representatives. Additionally, she works as a trainer for Rutgers University. Previously, she worked as an adjunct college professor and taught a public speaking course at Princeton Adult School. She is a past president of a local Toastmasters International club and recently completed Dale Carnegie courses in both leadership and public speaking. She currently works in a leadership role within state government and serves as president for a NJ-based professional association.
Ms. Wheatley is a U.S. Air Force veteran who holds a bachelor’s degree from American University, a teaching certificate from University of Cambridge in England, a master’s degree in public health from Rutgers University, and a master of science degree from Michigan State University.
Years ago, Ms. Wheatley struggled to speak in front of audiences. Today, she feels passionate about sharing techniques to convey confidence, engage audiences, and deliver effective messages.
