Location: Ralph Geiger Turfgrass Education Center, 20 Indyk-Engel Way, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 (directions & map to building).
PARKING: Parking is only available in the gravel lot behind the Office of Continuing Professional Education (OCPE) located at 102 Ryders Lane (do not park in the paved area around OCPE or the spaces adjacent to the Geiger Center as they require parking permits). Who Should Attend?
If you are completing the NJ Recycling Certification Program in order to become a Certified Recycling Professional, you must take this course. Current Certified Recycling Professionals and Certified Public Works Managers can also take this course to earn recertification credits.
Meet Your Instructor
Dominic D’Altilio

Mr. D’Altilio has over 50 years of government, solid waste, and recycling experience serving as a Ridgefield, NJ Councilperson, Chairman of the Police Committee, and Environmental Commissioner. He also served as the Essex County Solid Waste Advisory Council (SWAC) Chairman, Assistant Director of Public Works, Sanitation Superintendent and Recycling Coordinator, Chairman of the NJDEP Reinvigorating Recycling Government Workgroup, and a participant in the Modernization Evaluation of the NJDEP Solid and Hazardous Waste Management Program. He acts as an in-house consultant for a sustainability consulting firm aiding government and educational institutions. He also served for 14 years as the President of the Association of New Jersey Recyclers (ANJR) and is now a Board Member.
A graduate of Ramapo College with a degree in Environmental Studies, Mr. D’Altilio is the author of The Recycling Coordinator’s Primer. He has been a speaker at Rutgers University and Cook College undergraduate classes, and an instructor since 1988 for the New Jersey Recycling Certification Series, whose curriculum he helped develop. He has also been an instructor for the Pennsylvania Recycling Professional Certification Program, where he participated in the development of their first online recycling learning program. He is a recipient of the New Jersey DEP Outstanding Achievement in Recycling Award (1992), Cook College Continuing Professional Education Director’s Award – Faculty Coordinator (1993), Association of New Jersey Recyclers – President’s Award (1994), Association of New Jersey Recyclers – Recycling Excellence Award (2001), New Jersey Senate & General Assembly Joint Legislative Resolution of Commendation (2002), Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders Commendation for Dedication (2002), and the NJDEP Commissioner’s Award (2017).
