Course Overview
The recycling and solid waste industries are highly physical and strenuous. Lifting containers, emptying loads, twisting, turning, and awkward positioning can take a toll. Even if you are not out in the field, day-to-day office operations, poor workspace designs, and poor desk posture can make you feel old beyond your years!
This half-day program, developed and instructed by licensed physical therapists, will help you make things better, starting with an introduction to the science of ergonomics and running through to recommendations on reducing ergonomics risks. An in class pre-test will let you see what you might be doing wrong, a post-test will let you see how you have improved, and stretch breaks and posture analysis throughout the class will leave you feeling better when you are finished!
