Course Overview
If you are interested in jobs that require an advanced level of competence with Excel and you have already taken a Level Three class, MS Excel Level Four may be the right class for you!
This course is designed for individuals who must demonstrate high level data management and formatting skills in MS Excel, for both data analysis and presentation purposes. Students will learn how to create a template; write visual basic programming script; use complex spreadsheet functions including Goal Seek, loan payment calculations, and macros; add notes and comments on cells of worksheets; protect a worksheet; insert objects in a spreadsheet; use Word Art as an object; add hyperlinks to a spreadsheet; and attach spreadsheets to email.
Level 4 Performance Objectives:
By the end of this course, students will be able to perform the following skills:
- Demonstrate creation and use of Templates
- Use of the “IFS,” “SUMIF,” and “SUMIFS” formulas
- Understand and demonstrate use of the Power Query, Goal Seek, and PMT functions
- Create macros formulas
- Use “Flash Fill” to eliminate the need for recopying text formulas
- Use of the “MATCH,” “INDEX,” and “XLOOKUP” formulas
- Protect cells from editing by the end-users
- Add Comments to cells
- Insert hyperlinks, Objects, and Word Art in spreadsheets
- Format and attach worksheets to email
Prerequisites
Completion of Microsoft Office Excel – Level 3, and/or ability to perform all Level 1, 2, and 3 Performance Objectives
Course Format
This will be a live, online, interactive course, using the Zoom video conferencing platform. Students should be prepared to have their webcams turned on, and microphones and speakers enabled. The instructor may ask you to unmute to speak, or ask for feedback in the Chat. You will be following along with the instructor and will be doing Excel exercises on your own computer.

Anne Marie DelPrincipe
Anne Marie DelPrincipe is a technically skilled training specialist with an emphasis in corporate training and specialized end-user computing. Known for accuracy, attention to detail, and timeliness in managing training for diverse industries, Anne Marie is also a personable instructor with a proven record of helping workshop participants to achieve results. She has strong, hands-on technical training and consulting experience at all levels of the organization including upper management. In particular, Anne Marie has extensive experience in compiling training manuals; creating effective training spreadsheets and captivating presentations; and conducting executive presentations/seminars. Anne Marie earned her BA in Computer Information Systems and MBA in Management Information Science.

The Microsoft Office Excel – Level 4 course is approved for 0.3 Rutgers CEUs (3 contact hours).
