The hands-on learning component of the EPH program starts well before the first day of your health department internship. Multiple hands-on activities, field trips, and outdoor demonstrations are incorporated into the 8-week course to help students connect what they learn in the classroom to what they will experience in the field.
Whether it’s analyzing soil samples in the soil pits, touring a wastewater facility, trying on a hazmat suit, or learning how to spot poison ivy, EPH students are provided with valuable opportunities to practice what they’ve been taught – and have fun doing it!
Browse the photos below for a sneak peek into what you’ll experience — beyond the classroom — if you participate in the EPH course.
